ORCHARD — The Wolfpack girls basketball team returned to their winning ways Thursday night with a 45 to 29 victory over Clearwater/Orchard.
“The girls did an excellent job stepping up in the second half when Jessica went out with an injury. They all stepped up their game and played some good basketball.”
Leading 19 to 16 to start the second half, senior standout Jessica Heithoff went down with an injury and did not return to the game. Her teammates responded by outscoring their opponent 26 to 13 over the final two quarters to claim the victory.
Junior Lauren Selting and sophomore Chelsi Mescher combined to score 21 points. Ashley Bode led the team in rebounds with nine, one more than Mescher.
