The first Wednesday after Easter is always a special day for the ladies of Elgin and the surrounding area. That evening, this year it falls on April 4, members of the Elgin Chapter of Knights of Columbus will cater to the ladies at the annual “Da Ladies Nite Out.”
Attendees will feast on fine cuisine and spirits, then be entertained with a special program. Guest speaker this year will be Jolene Lichty of O’Neill. Lichty will share her experiences she encountered after being diagnosed with Cancer. A mother of three, Lichty is an author, presenter and has worked as a mental health counselor for 24 years. In May 2016, her life took her on a new journey after she was diagnosed with Neueroendocrine Pancreatic Cancer.
She will share how cancer has taken her on a journey of F.A.I.T.H. Come find out how F.A.I.T.H., attitude and HUMOR gives us strength for the hard, the unexpected and the unknown.
The information she shares will be useful no matter where you are on your journey of life.
This will mark the 22nd consecutive year for ‘Da Ladies Nite Out.’
The idea was first proposed to the Knights by Father Owen Korte
The first-ever event was held at St. Boniface Auditorium on April 16, 1996.
More than 300 persons attended that event and it’s been going strong every since.
