Homecoming was celebrated at Pope John Central Catholic during the week of October 11th.
Nathan Dierks and Jackie Seier were crowned 2008 Homecoming King and Queen in ceremonies Wednesday evening.
Following the coronation ceremonies, each class did a skit adapting a fairy tale to the Crusader theme. Receiving 1st place were the eighth graders with their version of Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs. Dr. Seuss was chosen by the seventh graders who placed second. The seniors and sophomores tied for third place with their rendition of Little Red Riding Hood and The Night Before Christmas, respectively.
Creativity was evident in the floats that were made by each class. The eighth graders received first place with “We Will Rock You”. “Baby Come Back” by the seventh graders placed second. “The Redneck Yacht Club” won third place for the seniors.
“Pajama Day” winners were Lauren Selting and Tyson Lodge. Outstanding “Imitate a Staff Member” were Samantha Heithoff and Nate Dierks. Best dressed for “Natural Disaster Day” were Beckie Reicks and Ross Schindler. Taylor Knievel and Austin Heying were noted for their “Fake an Injury” attire. “Blue & White Day” winners were Carey Eischeid and Jake Eischeid.
The Homecoming Dance was held at the Knights of Columbus Hall following the Friday night football game.
