The Sandhills Legion Riders met at the Legion Club in Neligh on Sept. 2nd.The meeting was called to order by vice-president Darryl Booth. Norfolk Veterans will travel to Chambers on Sept. 13th. They are leaving Norfolk at 3 p.m. Riders can pick up the escort along the way or meet in Neligh at OK tire at 3:30 and lead the bus from there. The soldier from Laurel will be laid to rest on Oct. 3 in Laurel. We will escort at the services. The Rib Fest will be in Tilden on Sept. 19. Riders will leave Neligh at 3:30 to ride to Tilden.
Karen read a letter from the American Legion Legacy Fund in recognition of our donation. A report on the funeral escort for Sgt. Bosley of Lynch was given by Booth and Thomas. A ride to Belgrade to the “New Frontier” is planned for Sept. 20.
