The Elgin City Council Thursday night scheduled a public meeting to be held in November to discuss proposed rate changes to the city’s water system and a proposed plan of action to deal with arsenic in it’s water well system.
City Clerk Vicki Miller said the Council will hold the public hearing on Monday, November 5, by which time they should have heard back from the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality on possible state funds available to the community to offset costs for the creation of a new city well.
