President Steve Busteed called the regular March Meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. Board members present were Stan Heithoff, Todd Heithoff, Ron Bode, Doug Jones, Lisa Welding, and Steve Busteed. Also present was Principal Greg Wemhoff and Supt. Dan Polk.
President Busteed led the “Pledge of Allegiance.” Busteed reminded everyone that a copy of the Nebraska Open Meetings Law was posted in the meeting room.
School board meeting notice complied with Meeting Notice Policy #204.07.
Todd Heithoff motioned and Doug Jones second to approve the Consent Agenda: #5- Minutes of Previous Meeting, #6- Adopt the Agenda, #7- Financial Report, #8- Board Bills. Motion carried, vote 6-0.

President Busteed recognized visitors and asked if the patrons had any comments.
Michael Becker gave the AD report for winter sports and preliminary numbers for spring sports.
Principal Wemhoff reported on MAPS testing results. Students are tested in the fall and late winter in science, math, language arts, and reading. 78 percent of students (Gr. 3-11) increased their score in at least 3 of the subjects
Supt. Polk reported on information posted on the school website concerning the coronavirus.
In action items, Stan Heithoff motioned, Lisa Welding seconded to approve offering contracts to all current teachers for the 2020-21 school year. Vote 6-0, motion carried.
Discussion was held on summer maintenance projects such as cement repairs, third grade classroom windows repair or replacement, locker room benches, and kitchen door walkways. Jones motioned, Todd Heithoff second to approve the building & grounds projects as recommended with higher priced items brought back to the board for further approval. Vote 6-0, motion carried.
Ron Bode motioned, seconded by Welding to approve the tentative 2020-21 school calendar. Vote 6-0, motion carried.
Todd Heithoff motioned, Bode second to approve the technology purchases as presented. Vote 6-0, motion carried.
A surplus list of technology and music equipment was reviewed. Jones motioned, Welding second to approve the surplus list as presented. Vote 6-0, motion carried.
Welding motioned, Stan Heithoff second to approve school bus transportation for post prom. Vote 6-0, motion carried.
Motion by Welding, second by Bode to adjourn the meeting. Vote 6-0, motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 7:24 p.m.
The next meeting will held on April 15, 2020 at 7:30 p.m. in the Distance Learning Room at Elgin Public School
