Pope John AMC Math Champs
Ten students at Pope John participated in the 30th annual American Mathematics Competitions 8 (AMC 8), held on November 18, 2014. With these contests, there are awards in each school for the students with the highest score, certificates for high-scoring students, and statewide awards. Challenging math problems on the test are new, different and require students to think “outside the box”. Its purpose is to spur interest in mathematics and inspire students to want to learn more math.
