Gayla Oakley, RN, MAACVPR, director of Cardiology Services and Prevention at Boone County Health Center, has been elected to the status “Master of AACVPR” (American Assoc-iation of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation), which is given to those long-term members of AAC-VPR who exemplify the highest standards of the profess-ion. Gayla is the 33rd person nation-wide to receive the award and only 6 of them are nurses. The remaining 27 who have been given this prestigious award have their MD or PHD.
