Meeting at the Steel Steed Steakhouse & Saloon Monday night, members of the Elgin Community Club began a discussion about the future of the annual Vetch Days celebration.
President Jeremy Young asked those present to consider how the June celebration could be modified to bring more people to the event.
No action was taken during the meeting as Young encouraged members to discuss ideas and be prepared at the October meeting to vote their convictions.
Young said the board of directors have been discussing the possibility of shifting the celebration to the last weekend in June. In recent years, the club has been told by the carnival when Vetch Days could be held.
One suggestion made was to go without a carnival if they cannot be booked for a weekend celebration.
