At the December Elgin City Council meeting, Rutjens Construction of Tilden was awarded the contract for construction of a new ultravoilet disinfection system. Construction is expected to begin in May of 2009 and completed by September.
Discussion continued on the tree burning issue and costs of gutter/curb replacement. No action was taken.
Newly elected councilman Don Mackel was sworn in at the meeting.
