The holidays will be celebrated with music next week at schools in Elgin.
Elgin High School students will hold a Christmas concert, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Monday night, Dec. 14, in the school gymnasium.
Then, on Thursday, Dec. 17, also at 7:30 p.m., elementary students will participate in a Christmas concert in the gymnasium.
Announced in the December school newsletter, Superintendent Dan Polk said the school will provide a babysitting service during the elementary music concert. All children not in the concert (over the age of six months and under the age of seven years) are asked to be dropped off in the high school building where members of the Wolfpack girls’ basketball team, along with responsible adults, will be babysitting for the duration of the concert. The pre-school and kindergarten students will perform near the beginning of the concert. When their performance is completed, they will be escorted by their teachers and staff over to the high school building where they will stay until their parents pick them up when leaving the concert.
The babysitting service in the high school will start taking children at 7 p.m. sharp.
