D. R. Haskin of Royal, Nebraska will be at Elgin Public Library on Monday, April 4 to speak about his books “The Hills of Mars,” “Samuel’s Journal,” and “Beyond the Hills of Mars” at 7 p.m. Books will be available for purchase and will be signed by the author.
“The Hills of Mars” is a true story about pioneer life in Nebraska in the 1870’s and 1880’s. The book, which is written as a novel, follows the author’s great, great grandfather, Samuel Haskin, as he leads a group of people from Wisconsin to Nebraska in 1873.
