The 43rd annual Elgin FFA Banquet was held April 19, 2010. The 2009-2010 officer team began the evening with Opening Ceremonies. After Brieann Grosserode gave the invocation, a potluck supper followed.
Throughout the evening, a silent auction containing several items donated by local businesses and FFA supporters were available for bidding.
Some of the year’s activities were shown during a PowerPoint presentation prepared by Devin Brown and Justin Reestman.
This year’s Greenhand and Chapter Farmer Degree recipients were recognized.
Nebraska State FFA Association Vice President Tyler Spilinek addressed the members and guests and challenged everyone to represent our Agricultural Industry and Lead Out Loud.
Karl Hensley informed everyone about the, “I Believe in The Future of Ag” program which supports the Nebraska FFA Foundation and local FFA Chapters. He then presented the FFA Chapter with a check as part of the program.
Mr. Hensley awarded this year’s CVA Leadership award to AJ Braband. Certificates of Appreciation were given to several friends and supports of FFA. Justin Reestman and FFA Alumni Tyler Reestman presented their parents, Ken and Joyce Reestman with the Honorary Chapter Farmer Degree.
Following retiring addresses by FFA Officers Justin Reestman and Devin Brown, the 2010-2011 officer team was announced. Devon Baum-Sentinel, Brieann Grosserode-Reporter, Justine Meis-Treasurer, Grant Beckman-Secretary, Caleb Pelster-Vice President, and AJ Braband-President.
