Ann Day, 81 of Elgin, NE passed away Saturday, January 12, 2013 at the Wolf Memorial Good Samaritan Center in Albion, NE.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday, January 18, at St. Boniface Church in Elgin with Rev. Ross Burkhalter officiating. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.huffmanlevander.com.

Hester Ann Day, daughter of William and Irene (Phillips) Martin, was born July 20, 1931 at O’Neill, NE. She grew up in O’Neill and graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1950.
On March 1, 1962 Ann married Henry A. Day at Valentine, NE. They made their home on a ranch west of Elgin, NE on the Beaver Creek. It was there that they raised their three children: Dell, Bill and Joe. In 1983, Henry retired and they sold the ranch to Jim and Elaine Wolf. They continued to live on the ranch until moving to the Homestead apartments in Elgin, NE in 2000. Ann entered the Wolf Memorial Good Samaritan Center in December 2012.
Ann loved to crochet, play cards, read, and spend time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member St. Boniface Catholic Church and St. Boniface Christian Mothers.
She is survived by her three children: Dell Behnk of Belton, TX; William (Gloria) Day of Norfolk, NE; Joe Day of Omaha, NE; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters: Judy Shaw of Albion, NE and Kay Shoemaker of Chambers, NE; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Ann was preceded in death by her parents; husband Henry in 2005; two brothers: Don Martin and Ed Martin; two sisters: Midge Hickey and Mary Helen Magdanz.
