STUART — Four Wolfpack players scored in double figures Friday night as Elgin Public-Pope John defeated Sturart 61 to 32 in girls basketball action.
It was a mismatch from the start. Stuart came into the game having won just one time and it showed on the court as the Wolfpack jumped out to a 17 to 6 lead after the first quarter. In each of the four quarters the Wolfpack would score in double figures. At the other end of the court, Stuart was held to single-digit scoring in three of the four quarters.
Senior Lauren Selting ripped the nets for 18 points as she was the game’s leading scorer. Chelsi Mescher tossed in 12 and Stephanie Bode added 11. Sydney Schumacher came off the bench to score 12 points in her best offensive showing of the young season. Altogether, seven Wolfpack players broke into the scoring column.
