The Elgin Knights of Columbus are readying for their 20th annual Da Ladies Nite Out event.
As in past years, it will be held on the Wednesday night following Easter.
This year, that date is Wednesday, March 30.
As they celebrate this milestone year, the Knights have a few surprises up their sleeves.
No surprise will be this year’s guest speaker. Elgin will be a return visit for popular teacher, humorist, author and nationally-recognized speaker Juli Burney.
Burney, the daughter of Northeast Nebraska humorist Joan Burney, entertained Da Ladies Nite Out crowd in 2008.
Burney has spoken to Fortune 500 companies, been filmed by Showtime and HBO and has made numerous guest appearances on radio and television. Of special note pertaining to Juli – her mother Joan was the featured speaker at the inaugural Da Ladies Nite Out which was then held in the St. Boniface Auditorium.
In celebrating the “Emerald” year, the Knights encourage those who attended that first event to make extra effort to attend this year’s.
