Donations continue to be accepted for the Elgin Scholarship Drive being conducted by the Elgin Area Community Foundation.
Last year eight students (four each from Elgin High School and Pope John Central Catholic High School) received scholarships totalling $7,000. So far the scholarship fund drive has, since its inception, raised over $41,000 to help 54 local students continue their educations.
Recent donations have come from David & Janice Eischeid, Gary & Jayne Arehart, Bruce & Joanne Anderson, Charlie & Shelley Bode, Leonard & Ann Beckman, and Peg Schindler.
To date, $1,455 has been raised for this year’s fund drive.
