Lois Sprout of Elgin was recognized by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Extension in Antelope County as the first recipient of the monthly “Friend of 4-H Award”. The award was presented to Lois by Anita Hall, UNL Extension Educator and Jeanne Peterson, a former 4-H member.
This year marked Lois’s 50th year of being a 4-H leader in Antelope County. She began her career as the leader of the Merry Makers 4-H Club in rural Elgin. At least 60 women have received their 4-H education by being a member of this club.
