Elgin’s premiere gala event is upon us. The doors to the Knights of Columbus Hall will open Sunday night at 5 p.m., unlocking a “Winter Wonderland” for all attending. An “Evening With Friends” will kickoff at 5 p.m. with a social hour. Those attending will also be able to begin bidding on any of forty-eight Silent Auction items at 5 p.m. An array of appetizers will prelude the formal dinner to begin at 6 p.m. On the menu that evening is Prime Rib or Citrus Chicken, Roasted Rosemary Red Potatoes, Green Beans with Baby Carrots, Garden Greens with Raspberry Vinegrette Dressing and Butterhorn Rolls, all catered by Swete Catering. The dessert is Raspberry Swirl Cheesecake, created by Jodine Meis.
The Live Auction containing fourteen items will begin at 8 p.m. Throughout the evening, different games will be played with gift and cash prizes.
Welcoming the guests will be Fr. Ross Burkhalter and Jim and Betty Getzfred. The Masters of Ceremonies will be Dave Amick and Gary Hoefer. The evening’s auctioneer will be Ted Baum. Committee members of this year’s event include Tom and Bonnie Hoefer, Sharon and Dave Gossman, Dave and Gwen Beckman, Joe and Lori Beckman, Mike and Connie Dvorak, Jim and Bev Funk, Jerry and Jan Heithoff, Brian and Sue Henn, Dave and Tracy Hoefer, Paul and Brenda Kuhlman, Ben and Anna Meis, Dennis and Lynell Morgan, Ed and Anne Parks, John and Patty Thiele and Kyle and Deb Warren.
All tickets for this year’s event have been sold. Proceeds will benefit Pope John XXIII Central Catholic High School.
