Every five years the City of Elgin and Bud’s Sanitary Service review their contract.
This is the year and Bud’s proposed a rate increase of 75 cents per month, per customer for trash service.
At Monday night’s meeting, the Elgin City Council approved the increase which will, in turn be passed on to customers.
The new monthly rate will be $13.
