It’s been a year in the making but the Boone County Health Center’s Foundation is pleased to announce it has completed its 2011 priority project.
The Foundation’s Board raised funds towards the purchase of a C-Arm.
According to Foundation Director, Aprill Murphy, a culmination of the Hospital’s Gala featuring Miss America, two golf tournaments, strong community support for the project and grant dollars all resulted in necessary funds being raised to complete the project.
Two grants, one from the Mansfield Foundation for $8,000 and one from Cornhusker Goodwill Fund for $300 helped to ensure the project would be funded. Altogether, $50,000 was raised both locally and through varied sources by the Foundation towards the project’s completion.
Total costs of the project were $130,000, with the remaining $80,000 committed by the Health Center.
The C-Arm medical equipment is currently in use in the Health Center’s Surgery Department.
