President Steve Busteeed called the regular February Meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.  Board members present were Stan Heithoff, Doug Jones, Rob Bode, Todd Heithoff, Lisa Welding, and Steve Busteed.  Also present were Superintendent Dan Polk and Principal Greg Wemhoff.
President Busteed led the “Pledge of Allegiance.”  Busteed reminded everyone that a copy of the Nebraska Open Meetings Law was posted in the meeting room.
School board meeting notice complied with Meeting Notice Policy #204.07.
Doug Jones motioned and Todd Heithoff second to approve the Consent Agenda: #5- Minutes of Previous Meeting, #6- Adopt the Agenda, #7- Financial Report, #8- Board Bills. Motion carried, vote 6-0.

President Busteed recognized visitors and asked if the patrons had any comments.
Committee assignments were distributed to the board members.
Principal Wemhoff reported on the past month’s activities and upcoming activities.
Supt. Polk reported on the Northern Tier mtg. he had attended.  He also reported that he would be attending the NASB Legislative issues mtg. on March 5th and the NRSCA Conference on March 21 & 22.
In action items, there was no action taken on the principal’s contract since he currently has a two-year contract in force.
Stan Heithoff motioned, Lisa Welding second to approve board goals created at the board retreat in January.  Vote 6-0, motion carried.
Ron Bode motioned, Jones second to approve a request from TeamMates to use a bus to attend a Creighton Basketball game.  Vote 6-0, motion carried.
Discussion was held on the possibility of a bus barn.  No action was taken.  The facilities committee will meet to set new parameters to build a basic bus facility targeted under $100,000.
Discussion was held on adding another layer of barrier to the outside of the gym walls to prevent water leakage.  Welding motioned, Stan Heithoff second to accept a bid from Schmitt Construction of $29,565 to cover the three gym walls and redo the rain gutters on upper portion.  Voting yes were Busteed, Stan Heithoff, Todd Heithoff, Jones, and Welding.  Bode abstained.  Motion carried.
Motion by Todd Heithoff and second by Welding to adjourn the meeting.  Vote 6-0, motion carried.  The meeting adjourned at 7:30 p.m.
The next meeting will held on March 13, 2019 at 6:30 p.m. in the Distance Learning Room at Elgin Public School
