Shirley Kay Specht, of Huntington Beach, CA, passed away, November 20, 2015, at Huntington Beach Guest House after her year-long battle with cancer.
Shirley was born to Kenneth and Bette Bergstrom in O’Neill, Nebraska on July 3, 1943.
She attended and graduated from Elgin Public School, May, 1961.
Shirley married Gene Alloway in 1963, in Elgin.
While living in Nebraska, sons Michael and Jeffrey were born.
Later they lived in Louisiana and Texas before settling in California.
In 1990, Shirley married Lee Specht and they made their home in Huntington Beach, CA.
Shirley enjoyed doing things with her family, especially with her grandchildren and great granddaughter.
On occasion, Shirley enjoyed her bus trips to .
Shirley is survived by her husband Lee, sons Michael (Gail) Alloway, Ladera Ranch, CA and Jeffrey (Diana), of Cordova, TN, grandsons, Mitchell Alloway, Park City, Utah, and Matthew Alloway, Austin, TX, granddaughter, Monique Guiger, great granddaughter, Anabelle Guiger, Camas, WA, sister, Marilyn (Tom) Reilly, Elgin, NE, nieces, Cherie, Pamela, Becki, nephew, Tom Jr, as well as many friends and relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and a nephew.
Memorial services will be held for Shirley at a later date.
