The District 18 Board of Education will hear public comments on the proposed 2011-2012 budget prior to the start of their regular board meeting on Sept. 8.
Superintendent Steve Dennis said two public hearings will be held in connection with the proposed budget. The first hearing, scheduled for 7:10 p.m. in the distance learning room at Elgin High School, will be to hear public comments on the proposed budget. The 2011-2012 proposed budget calls for a tax requirement of more than $2.27 million for the general fund and just over $121,000 for the special building fund. Combined, the total tax asking would be $2,391,431.29.
