ELGIN – The Wolfpack volleyball team opened the season at home Thursday night, hosting a double triangular.
Despite a top-notch performance in a hot gymnasium, the Wolfpack came up short in both of their matches.
They began the night against Chambers/Wheeler Central and fell 25 to 23 and 25 to 21. In the first game, consecutive ace serves by Chelsi Mescher gave the Wolfpack an eight to five lead. The teams traded points before the Lady Renegades tied the score at 19-all. An ace serve by Trisha Collins gave CWC their first lead in the game. A kill by Brea Schrage gave the Wolfpack their final lead in the game, 23-22. the Lady Renegades then scored the last three points to claim game #1.
