Could the number of students participating in ag classes at School District #18 grow in the coming year?
It’s possible.
As reported last week in The Neligh News & Leader, at their October meeting, the Neligh/Oakdale Board of Education earlier this month, directed school officials to discuss with Elgin or any other neighboring school district, options for N/O students “to co-op” agricultural classes and/or FFA. The school board unanimously approved going forward with the inquiries.
On Tuesday morning, School District #18 Superintendent Dan Polk said the school has been contacted. Discussion is in the “early stages.” Were such an arrangement to come to fruition, it wouldn’t happen until the start of the 2016/2017 school year, Polk added.
