Lions Club Supports Leader Dogs for the Blind

Imagine losing your eyesight and trying to do many of the tasks which we all take for granted every day.

It’s nearly impossible to do alone, but through the help of a four-legged friend, the loss of eyesight need not be a major handicap.

That’s what more than 30 persons were told Thursday night, April 2, as the Elgin-Neligh Lions Club presented a program on leader dogs. The site was the Lions Club building in Neligh. Present to explain the program were Dave and Lori Johnson of Blair. The Johnsons raise leader dog puppies for 14 months before turning them over to the Leader Dog School for formal training.
