The library will not be open Wednesday evening, November 25 or Thursday, November 26 for Thanksgiving. We will be open on Friday the 27th.
New books are The Christmas List by Richard Paul Evans and Ford Country by John Grisham, We also now have The Hills of Mars by D.R. Haskin. Several people have asked me about that book, so wanted to let you all know we now have it.
At a county library meeting, author Thomas Phillips of Lincoln told about his book, Battlefields of Nebraska. His book was also added to our collection.
New books for children are Junie B. Jones Is (almost) a Flower Girl by Barbara Park, Phineas L. MacGuire…Erupts! by Frances O’Roark Dowell, New Dawn on Rocky Ridge by Roger Lea MacBride, and as if being 12 ¾ isn’t bad enough, my mother is running for president! by Donna Gephart, and Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days by Jeff Kinney.
On the 19th, book club met to hear about author Gary Moore and to discuss works of Edgar Allan Poe.
Our next book club book will be Journey Into Christmas and Other Short Stories by Bess Streeter Aldrich.
Our silent auction was again successful due to the generosity of our community! This was our second year. Should we make it an annual event? The money raised goes into the Library Foundation. It will be used to supplement our budget if necessary.
Maybe at some point in the future, an addition or new library will be needed.
