The Kinney Family Reunion was held in Elgin July 31 through August 2 with the Roland Kinney family serving as hosts. Forty-five members attended from Arizona, Georgia, Illinois, Colorado, Ohio and Nebraska.
The group enjoyed various activities. Some went golfing while others visited Ashfall and the fish hatchery. Some attended events at the Antelope County Fair. They all got together for the evening meals at the Kinney residence. On Sunday morning they attended the church service at Park Church followed by a catered dinner in the church basement.
David Currie presented a celebration of the life of his son, Devon, who lost his battle with cancer in December 2008. The display of family pictures in the church basement was enjoyed very much. The oldest couple present were Wayne and Dorothy (Kinney) Currie. youngest attendees were Brooke Kinney and Lillianne Kinney, both born in 2008.
