FULLERTON — Having lost their first game of the season, Elgin Public-Pope John entered Friday night’s game at Fullerton with something to prove on the gridiron.
Four quarters later all the questions were answered as the Wolfpack defeated the Warriors 52 to 8.
With the sun setting in the western sky, those dying rays were in the Warriors’ eyes. Perhaps that blinded them to the Wolfpack attack which took control of the game in the first quarter and, with the exception of one play, would have posted a shutout.
