Points proved hard to come by for the Elgin Eagles football team during the 2009 season.
Final season stats show the Eagles struggled to score, resulting in a 1-7 final season record.
“We did not have the year we wanted but I felt the boys continued to play hard all year long and continued to get better each week,” Coach Carlie Wells said.
Leading rusher for the Eagles was sophomore Nash Schindler who carried 130 times for 606 yards. Nick Heithoff gained 350 yards on 86 carries. Blake Anderson gained 177 yards rushing and Oliver Rivera had 164 yards.
The Eagles averaged 244 yards per game total offense while giving up just over 310 yards per game to opponents.
