“The residents of Antelope County are now actively in the ‘cold and flu’ season and have a high-rate of influenza-like illnesses in this area,” said Dr. Troy Dawson of Antelope Memorial Hospital. “With concerns of the flu season growing, hospital visitation guidelines are being followed closely for the protection of AMH patients, visitors and hospital staff.”
AMH is asking that children under age 17 NOT to visit the hospital unless they have a medical issue, added Dr. Dawson. Adults with a fever, sore throat, cough, body aches or upper respiratory problems related to the flu are also asked to refrain from visiting AMH patients.
