Wolfpack Track Teams Open Season at Genoa

GENOA — The Wolfpack opened the spring sports season last week, competing in the Twin River Invitational track meet.
“Our kids gave a good effort for the most part. I believe we will continue to improve each week,” Coach Carlie Wells said about the team’s first competition of the season..
Leading the boys’ effort was Nash Schindler who placed second in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 44.2 seconds.
Teammate Alex Pelster took second in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:20.00.
In the boys team competition, Humphrey came out on top with 78 points followed by Cross County 60.5, Twin River 58, Shelby/Rising City 56, Cedar Valley 48.5, Lindsay Holy Family 42, EPPJ 37, Newman Grove 34, Palmer 34, Arcadia 33, St. Edward 14 and Heartland Lutheran 1.
The Wolfpack girls team was led by senior Ashley Bode who placed third in the 3200 meter run with a time of 13:51.00. The 1600 and 3200 meter relay teams each placed third.
Taking the girls team title was Lindsay Holy Family with 114 points followed by Palmer 79, Shelby/Rising City 68, Humphrey 59, Cross County 52.5, Cedar Valley 44, Twin River 27.25, EPPJ 27, Newman Grove 10.25, Arcadia 8, Heartland Lutheran 5 and St. Edward 2.
