On Saturday morning, Father Ross Burkhalter seemed comfortable in his new surroundings at the rectory of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Elgin.
Just days earlier, he replaced Father Dan Andrews who accepted new responsibilities at Sacred Heart in Norfolk.
At 47 years of age, Fr. Burkhalter will be serving both St. Boniface, and St. Bonaventure parish in Raeville as well as serving as president of Pope John Central Catholic Junior-Senior High School.
During a morning interview, he said he’s getting settled in as could be seen by all the books on the bookshelves in his office.
“It’s been kind of a whirlwind,” he said. “But it’s starting to calm down.”
