According to the East Central District Health Department in Columbus the forecast for a strong H1N1 season is strong. The H1N1 virus is already in Nebraska and could spread into the area as well as four counties, Platte, Colfax, Boone and Nance under the East Central District Health Department’s supervision. Vaccine for the H1N1 virus will be available by October to those individuals most at risk. However, now is the time to prepare for the possibility of an outbreak by taking simple, but proven steps to decrease the likelihood of catching this virus.
