ORDINANCE NO. 633
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, NEBRASKA, TRANSFERRING BOND RECORDKEEPING FROM THE CITY CLERK TO THE CITY TREASURER; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE; AND REPEALING SECTIONS IN CONFLICT.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, NEBRASKA, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That Section 1-504(A) of the Municipal Code be and hereby is amended to remove the responsibility of bond recordkeeping from the duties of the city clerk and shall read as follows:
A. The city clerk shall attend the meetings of the City Council and keep a correct journal of the proceedings of that body. He/she shall make, at the end of the fiscal year, a report of the business of the City transacted through the office for the year.
SECTION 2. That the responsibility of bond recordkeeping shall be added to the duties of the city treasurer in Section 1-505 of the Municipal Code, as follows:
The treasurer shall keep a record of all outstanding bonds against the city, showing the number and amount of each bond, for and to whom the bonds were issued, and the date upon which any bond is purchased, paid, or canceled. He or she shall accompany the annual statement submitted pursuant to Neb. Rev. Stat. §19-1101 with a description of the bonds issued and sold in that year and the terms of sale, with every item of expense thereof.
SECTION 3. That all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication as required by law.
