The Elgin Public-Pope John Wolfpack football team will be the #3 seed in the West Half of the Class D-1 State Football Playoffs. They will open the playoffs at home on Thursday, Oct. 25, against Franklin (5-3). The winner of that game will face the winner of the St. Mary’s-Palmer game on Oct. 31 at a site to be determined.
Another area school, Orchard-Clearwater qualified for the playoffs with a 5-3 record. They will face undefeated Hemingford.
