BURWELL — Elgin Public-Pope John (EPPJ) claimed third place in the Burwell Holiday Tournament by defeating Neligh-Oakdale 54 to 30 Wednesday afternoon.
The Wolfpack dominated the first half, only to see the Warriors make a run to get back into the game. With only eight players to play with, Neligh-Oakdale cut the Wolfpack’s lead to 23 to 20 early in the third quarter. However, their momentum suddenly came to a halt as the Wolfpack outscored the Warriors 31 to 10 the rest of the game.
