Wolfpack Boys Post First Victory

ELGIN — A tight game through three quarters, EPPJ pulled away in the fourth quarter to claim a 53 to 40 victory over Neligh-Oakdale last Tuesday night. Trailing by three, the Wolfpack outscored the Warriors 16 to nine in the second quarter to take a 28-24 lead at halftime.

The Warriors then outscored the Wolfpack 11 to nine in the third quarter to draw within two, 37 to 35. But, in the pivotal fourth quarter when most games are won or lost, the Wolfpack outplayed the Warriors. In the final eight minutes of the game, the Wolfpack outscored the Warriors 16 to five to earn the victory and improve their record to 1-2. The loss dropped the Warriors’ record to 0-3.

The Wolfpack was led by junior Evan Parks with 15 points from his guard position, teammate Nick Heithoff added eight points. Nash Schindler led the Wolfpack in rebounds with six, Corey Schindler and Blake Anderson each had five. Anderson was one of two players to have two assists in the game, the other was Nash Schindler.
