SARGENT — Landyn Veik and Sam Hemenway earned wrestling medals Friday at the Twin Loup Invitational.
For the second week in a row, Wolfpack wrestlers shined. Veik reached the championship match in the 150-pound weight class. There, he ran into Kegan Payne. The Warrior bested Veik on this day, pinning him in 3:33. Coming into the match, Veik defeated three opponents, two by pin. Veik is now 7-2 in the young season.
For Hemenway, he suffered his first loss of the season in the semi-final round. There, he faced Neligh-Oakdale’s Jacob Henery who claimed a nine to five decision. Hemenway came back to win a two to zero decision over Hagen Hodges of Burwell in the third place match. His record now stands at 7-1.
Unable to compete at Sargent due to injuries were Wolfpack wrestlers Austin Hinkle and Isaac Hemenway.
