Randolph Defeat Wolfpack in Opener

ELGIN — Fumbles, penalties and first-game jitters proved too much for the Elgin Public-Pope John Wolfpack to overcome Friday night as visiting Randolph posted a 38 to 12 victory.
The loss snapped the Wolfpack’s 26-game winning streak and dropped them out of the OWH D-1 state rankings.
The winning streak and the ranking meant little when the Wolfpack kicked off to start the game. They found themselves behind on the scoreboard just 14 seconds into the game when Cards’ junior running back Dylan Loberg busted through the line and went 74 yards for the game’s first touchdown.
