The 49th graduating class of Pope John XXIII Central Catholic will receive their diplomas during commencement exercises on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 8.
Seventeen seniors will don caps and gowns in front of family and friends to participate in one of the biggest days in their young lives, beginning at 1:30 p.m. at St. Boniface Gymnasium.
The program will feature a processional by Pope John Band students led by music instructor Rachel Becker. The invocation will be given by Father James Kramper.
Special music will be performed by Scott Moser.
Chosen as class speaker was Jenna Parks, the daughter of Ed and Anne Parks of Elgin. Following a video presentation, Principal Betty Getzfred will present the graduates for the conferring of diplomas by Ed Moser.
The benediction will be given by Father Ross Burkhalter.
Seniors this year are Maria Bartak, Trey Baum, Nicole Beckman, Karissa Dicke, Andrew Fangman, Lexus Heithoff, Kalin Henn, Kyle Kallhoff, Austin Meis, Scott Moser, Jenna Parks, Ryan Pelster, Chase Preister, Jill Schindler, Seth Schumacher, Terri Seier and Whitney Walker Moore.
