BARTLETT — The Wolfpack varsity volleyball team saw their four-match winning streak snapped Saturday at the CWC Tourney.
Playing host school Chambers/Wheeler Central in the opening round, the Renegades defeated the Wolfpack 25-20 and 25-18.
The Renegades shut down EPPJ’s hitters at the net as the Wolfpack produced just 10 kills and 16 errors. Marin Heithoff led hitters with four kills, Chelsi Mescher had three, Madi Voborny added two and Stephanie Bode had one. Jenna Parks led setters with nine set assists, Mescher had three.
Maddie Schiltmeyer and Heithoff each had one ace block in the match. Mescher led the team in in digs with three.
Parks and Heithoff each had one ace serve.
Second match
Next up at the tournament was Humphrey. The Wolfpack lost the first set 25-23, won the second set 25-9 and in the decisive third set ran out of gas and lost 25-10.
The Wolfpack’s attack was much better in this match as they recorded 25 kills. Heithoff led hitters with 10 kills, Mescher had six followed by Bode and Parks with four apiece, Voborny had one. Parks had 11 set assists in the match, Mescher had nine to go along with the team’s only ace serve.
Mallory Fangman led the team in digs with 11, Courtney Schumacher had six while Bode and Heithoff each had five.
Heithoff had two of the team’s five ace blocks. Also credited with blocks were Parks, Bode and Schiltmeyer.
Third match
In the finale, EPPJ defeated Cedar Valley 25-23, 18-25 and 29-27.
The Wolfpack played their best match of the tournament in claiming the victory. The team had 26 kills in the match, led by Heithoff with 10, Mescher had six, Bode and Parks three apiece, Corin Pelster and Voborny also had two each.
Voborny and Bode each had two ace blocks, Heithoff had one.
Two Wolfpack players were in double figures in digs. Schumacher led the team with 14, Fangman had 10. Mescher was credited with 14 set assists, Parks had nine.
Schiltmeyer had two ace serves in the match, Fangman had one.

The Wolfpack (5-5) will play at Cedar Valley on Thursday night, Sept. 20.
