Musical Theatre Company “The Candy Project” With Elgin Ties To Perform In Tilden

The Candy Project, Omaha’s newest musical theatre production company, will perform in Tilden, NE, February 14th, 2009 at the Peace U.C.C. Church at 7:30 p.m. Dessert will be served at 7:00 for individuals making reservations.

The Candy Project: A production company comprised of, produced and performed by twenty-somethings bringing little known but awesome musical theatre to the Omaha area.

The cabaret, which consists of songs covering a wide range of underrepresented musical theatre, will feature founders Dan Chevalier, Cathy Hirsch, Andy King and Amanda Miller. All four have appeared in productions at the Omaha Community Playhouse, and have received numerous nominations and awards for their work in various community theatres throughout the Omaha metro area. They will be accompanied by Pat Miller of Elgin.

King, a member of the Voice and Musical Theatre Faculty at Iowa Western Community College, performed in Elgin with the acapella men’s ensemble Rocktavo at the NVC Conference Choral Clinic in 2007. Miller, the daughter of Jim and Pat Miller and a graduate of Elgin High School, is a writer and composer whose original Christmas musical “The Singing Shepherd” was performed by Pope John/St. Boniface students in 2008.

Space permitting, individuals will be admitted to the cabaret only for a free will donation at the door. Cash or checks only, please.
