Henn wins 100th match at D2 District Wrestling Tournament

OAKLAND — The Wolfpack will once again be represented at the State Wrestling Tournament.
Logan Henn, a 126-pound senior, will wear the Wolfpack colors Thursday when the state tournament begins at the CenturyLink Center in Omaha.
Henn finished fourth in the 126-pound weight class.
He was one of four Wolfpack wrestlers to compete at the Class D2 District Tournament held Friday and Saturday at Oakland-Craig High School.
Henn started off the tournament by reaching a milestone. He recorded his 100th career victory by pinning Jakob Hogan of High Plains. Many of the Wolfpack fans in the stands held up “100” signs recognizing the achievement.
After losing in the semi-final round, Henn came back in the “heartbreak” round to defeat Justin Noel of Scribner-Snyder 2 to 0 to earn a trip to state. Henn’s two points came on a reversal near the end of the second period.
Henn ended up finishing fourth in his weight class.
Teammate Luke Henn, competed at 132 pounds and went 2-2 over the weekend, recording two pins.
Seniors Hayes Miller and Cameron Nielsen drew tough opponents in their matches, each posting 0-2 records at the tournament.
Elkhorn Valley won the district title with 162 points followed by Tri County 140, Cambridge 124, Amherst 115, Palmer 111.5, Oakland-Craig 110, Archbishop Bergan 88.5, Thayer Central 80, High Plains 77, Creighton 65.5, Clearwater-Orchard 57, Clarkson-Leigh 47, Twin Loup 46, Scribner-Snyder 21, EPPJ 20, Southern 19, Osmond 17 and BRID 11.
