The Bartlett Volunteer Fire Department has received a $2,500 donation from Wheeler County farmer Travis Heinz and America’s Farmers Grow Communities, sponsored by the Monsanto Fund. The donation will help the department purchase a portable lighting system to allow on-scene lighting when responding to emergencies and fires in remote location
“We are the only rescue service available for miles and miles, serving about 1200 people,” said Fire Chief Doug Reiter. “The majority of the community we serve is spread among a very large rural area. We are so grateful to the Monsanto Fund for providing this money to help us.”
Antelope County

Mr. Gary Schindler of rural Elgin has been selected as the Antelope County winner in America’s Farmers Grow Communities, sponsored by the Monsanto Fund. The program enrolls farmers for a chance to win $2,500, which is then donated to the farmer’s nonprofit of choice. Gary Schindler selected Oakdale Volunteer Fire Department to receive the donation.

The check presentation, which will include Oakdale Volunteer Fire Department representatives, Gary and a Monsanto representative will be held next Monday night (February 23) in Oakdale.
