Harold A. Anderson
1934 – 2010
Harold A. Anderson “Andy” or “Bud” of Bellevue was born on October 4, 1934 and passed away on Sunday, December 12, 2010.
He worked at Vickers Hydralics for 13 years and owned a shoe repair shop in Bellevue.
During his time in Elgin he assumed ownership of Harold’s Shoe Service when his father retired. Anderson was a member of the Elgin Volunteer Fire Department and the Elgin Chamber of Commerce.
Survivors are wife, Joyce; children, Lisa & husband Steve Roers, Sioux Falls, SD LCDR (Ret.) Tim & wife Ruth Anderson, Jacksonville, FL; Mary Schroeter, Littleton, CO; Lt Col Steve & wife Brandy Anderson, Ft. Mead, MA; Brother, Jack Anderson, New Orleans, LA; sisters, LeeAnn & husband Don Skillstad, Elgin, NE; Sally & husband Ron Schindler, Omaha; 9 grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday, Dec. 15 (today) from 5-7 p.m. with Vigil service at 7 p.m. at Bellevue Memorial Chapel in Bellevue.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 17, 2010 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Elgin, NE with Rev. Martin Beckman and Rev. Ross Burkhalter officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery with military rites conducted by American Legion Post 229 and VFW Post 5816 of Elgin, NE. Visitation will be 4:00-6:00 p.m. Thursday at Huffman-Levander Funeral Home in Elgin. Visitation will resume Friday morning at 9:00 a.m. at the church. Memorials may be directed to Sienna Francis House or your favorite charity.
