Francis B. “Frank” Jetensky

1926 – 2009

Funeral services for Francis B. “Frank” Jetensky, 82, of Madison, will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 10, 2009 (today) at Home for Funerals, Norfolk with Reverend Thomas E. Bauwens, officiating.  Burial will be in the Assumption Catholic Cemetery, Dwight, Nebraska at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday.  

Frank died Sunday, June 7, 2009 at Faith Regional Health Services.

Frank was born on December 6, 1926, in Walnut, NE, the son of Frank and Albina (Mlady) Jetensky. He was raised in Bazile Mills, NE. 

Following his education, Frank entered the US Army. He served in the Third Army 65 Division in the European Theater during WWII.  He was later recalled for the Korean War.

He returned to Nebraska after his honorable discharge.  On April 10, 1958, Frank married Beatrix Kouma in Verdigre, NE.

Frank was employed at the Hunt Telephone Properties in Creighton, Meadow Grove prior to managing the Elgin Exchange which later became Great Plains Communication for over 43 years.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and travelling.  He liked to collect guns. In 2003 Frank moved in with his son Jim in Madison.

Frank is survived by children and their spouses: Kevin Jetensky, of Madison, Katherine and Robert Bray, of Sebastian, Florida, Karlaleigh and Mark Higby, of Madison, Keric James Jetensky and Mary Schulz of Madison, Kerstan Joseph and Natalie Jetensky, of Tekamah, NE, Kristine Marie Kreider, of Elizabeth City North Carolina; fourteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; two sisters, Joan Mastalir, of Verdigre, and Nancy Collins, of Sunset, UT.

He was preceded in death by his wife in 2000, two brothers and two sisters.
