BLOOMFIELD — It was close and then it was not.
Elgin Public-Pope John turned a close game into a rout Saturday, defeating Bloomfield 65 to 46 in this, their first game of 2023.
The Wolfpack led by only one point, 42 to 41, after Bloomfield’s Beau Eisenhauer sank a three-pointer with 1:43 left in the third quarter.
Then Wolfpack senior Jack Wemhoff, seeing his first action of the season, drained a trey which seemed to ignite the Wolfpack.
