First Day at School at EPS to be August 15

It seems like only yesterday, Elgin Public Schools was dismissing for the summer recess. Time waits for no one.
The 2013-2014 school year gets underway next week.
The first day of classes will be Thursday, Aug. 15 with a shortened schedule. School will start at 8:15 a.m. and dismiss at 1 p.m. Morning pre-school will be held from 8:15 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and afternoon preschool will begin on Monday, Aug. 19.
The regular schedule will be observed starting Friday, Aug. 16 with school running from 8:15 a.m. to 3:43 p.m. for grades 7-12; and from 8:15 a.m. to 3:40 p.m. for grades kindergarten-6.
The morning preschool regular schedule will be from 8:15 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Afternoon preschool will be held Monday through Thursday from 1 p.m. to 3:40 p.m.
Breakfast and lunch will begin serving students on Aug. 15. Breakfast will be $1.40 and will begin at 7:45 a.m.
Student lunches will be priced at $2 for PreK-6, $2.25 for grades 7-12 per meal.
New staff members are:

Kerri Drueke — Librarian/7th and 8th Grade Language Arts
Eric Heithoff — Music
Eric Mlinar — Business; Computer
Ken Newcomb — Junior High Math
Wes Prater — Social Studies
Also new this year is Greg Wemhoff who will serve as K-12 Principal.
